Our Community

The seat of Monroe County, Stroudsburg is strategically located at the junction of Interstate 80, 611and State Route 209, two hours west of New York City and two hours north of Philadelphia. Known as the "Gateway to the Pocono Mountains" for its thriving tourist trade, the area is renowned for its scenic beauty, hunting and fishing opportunities, and numerous resorts. It also is home to much light industry and a growing digital technology sector as these businesses move into business-friendly northeastern Pennsylvania.

Jane Roach Maughan has been an integral part of this community since 1986, when she moved here with her family for its high quality of life. Her active involvement with numerous commercial, civic and volunteer organizations has established wide and deep roots in the area. She is particularly involved in issues concerning growth and the environment.
